    For Heavy Messes

    Start with a short pre-wash in warm water (up to 140°F / 60°C) using the recommended amount of detergent; we suggest Tide Original to Line 1. Follow with a heavy-duty, longest-cycle wash in warm or cold water, using the full recommended detergent amount. Add other laundry items to create a full load for proper agitation.

    For Everyday or Light Use

    If the mat is lightly soiled or already pre-rinsed, a regular wash cycle in cold or warm water (up to 140°F / 60°C) with the normal amount of detergent is sufficient.

    Do not use bleach, fabric softeners, or natural detergents, as they can affect waterproofing and absorbency.

    Drying

    Hang to dry whenever possible. If needed, tumble dry on low heat.

    Before washing, remove any solids from your product. For heavily soiled items that may stain or develop odors, rinse under cold running water until clear before storing. For a deep clean, start with a pre-wash on a short warm cycle (up to 140°F / 60°C) using the recommended amount of detergent, then follow with a heavy-duty wash on the longest cycle in warm or cold water, adding other items to create a full load for proper agitation. For everyday or lightly soiled items, a regular cycle in cold or warm water with the usual amount of detergent is sufficient. Hang to dry whenever possible, or tumble dry on low if needed.
    Each Lifesaver Mat is made of 3 layers: waterproof PUL, absorbent microfibre, and a top layer of stay dry charcoal. Get all the details here.
    This is the mat with a thousand uses. Waterproof PUL on one side, absorbent, soft, stay dry and stain resistant charcoal on the other, we are so proud of this product.     That’s a great question! Unfortunately it is a little tricky to answer. If you evenly and steadily distributed water across the entire mat, we could probably give you an amount, but that’s not really how most humans leak and therefore not how the mats get used. We do have this handy video to show you how our Lifesaver Mats absorb. This should give you an idea of how it works and if it will be a good fit for the mess you have in mind!

    Saving laundry one intimate moment at a time

    Best changing mat

    I absolutely love this mat. I bought my first one 2 years ago with my first daughter and I’ve since made two other purchases, one as a gift and one for my second daughter. The patterns are beautiful and the mat holds up even after multiple washes. My partner got into using it consistently after the first diaper change when urine came flying out. We still use it post bath and for changing clothes with my toddler. Looking forward to using it as a pool/beach towel for her as well. I highly recommend the lifesaver mat!

    My husband and I just welcomed our son in July after a long struggle with infertility and loss.
