The Needs Program is for anyone who self-identifies as having a true need for our products but who cannot afford them at our regular price. We understand that times can be tough, and we're committed to helping you get what you need.

We ask that folks make the following promises before building their Needs Program bundle, and use an honor system when purchasing.

If you cannot agree to all the below statements, we kindly ask that you leave our Needs Program items for the next in line - someone who needs our reusable menstrual pads HyPs to improve their life and cannot afford them without our Needs Program discount.

Ultimately we are a small business trying to put some kindness and inclusion into the world, and we depend on the honesty and integrity of our community to make programs like this work for everyone.

We are a for profit business seeking to put some kindness and compassion out into the universe. We ask that only folks who truly need the financial help purchase through the needs program. This program is only possible when folks support us by purchasing full price. We believe most people are good, so we are putting our faith in the honor system and our amazing community (YOU!).

Step 2: Choose Your Sizes

We know that everyone has different needs and variety is the spice of life. While your period probably doesn’t make you feel spicy, we wanted to make sure the Needs Program has you covered. Choose light, regular, or heavy based on your needs with maximum of 10 pcs per order.

Step 3: Prepare to be amazed

Switching to reusables has so many benefits from your wallet to the planet. We are out here happy dancing hoping you fall in love - and if you aren't 100% email delight@lilhelper.ca - we are always here to help!

We get it. Reusable pads are a big change. And despite our seemingly light and fluffy demeanor, we too can be prone to our moments of jaded skepticism. So whether it is Lil Helper or cloth pads in general that are causing your side-eye, you may want to test run the idea before buying a whole stash. We strongly encourage you give our TRIAL KIT a try if you are brand new to the world of reusable pads. Once you're in love, you can come back to the Needs Program later.

Whether you are looking to save money, the environment, or some discomfort in your nethers, cloth may be the magical option for you. Cloth pads are a great way to reduce your single-use plastic, save yourself a boatload of money, and may even make your periods less awful (yes, really). But they aren’t for everyone. Newbie Guide
Our Needs Program was created to make our products more accessible to folks with a limited budget.


Based on an honor system of need and self-identification, folks can purchase selected items at a considerable discount.

The Needs program exists to provide folks with high quality solutions that they truly need from Lil Helper but cannot otherwise afford.

Kind Capitalism is one of Lil Helper’s core principles, where we operate as a for-profit business but where profit is not our only motive to show up for work. At our core, we want to provide solutions to people based on their needs.

We hope to make it easier for folks to switch to reusable products when we can by helping with the upfront costs in this way.

Needs program acts as a subsidy program and will replace our Baby Do Better Program so that we can offer all our needs based products at a subsidized rate for folks who need them.

The Needs Program is stocked with qualifying items that we can reasonably offer either by ordering in bulk or by stocking prints that we have a surplus of. We are a for-profit business but profit is not our sole motivation.


When folks support our company by buying full priced items, it allows us to offer some products at a discounted rate for those who truly need the help.

We know the Lil Helper family is incredibly generous and supportive. At this time, we have not found a way to allow other folks to support our work directly in the Need’s Program. We are going to continue investigating this option!
Currently, we are in the beginning trial stage of our Needs Program, and only offering our HyPs menstrual pads. We hope to be able to expand this program in the future.

Love my new find!

I have been looking for a way to stay drier after years and years of unhappy pantie liner options. This is the best resolution for me! I’m not giving it 5 starts because there is some sliding so maybe its user error but I feel dry all day no odors and def saving the environment thank you LH!

We've heard this feedback about slipping - you'll be happy to know we've added some new non-slip silicone dots to our HyPs and will be releasing this new version - HyPs Active - in the coming weeks!
In the mean time, you may want to try wearing them backwards - since every body is different, we've had some users report that that helps!

Great for first timers

Honestly, I’ve always been skeptical of reusable pads. What if it doesn’t absorb as much? What if it’s too bulky? What if it’s too complicated to maintain compared to disposable ones? What if it slips or slides in my underwear? And a bundle of other what ifs. But I’ve always loved the idea of no longer wasting both money and resources on disposable pads. So I was really glad to see that a bundle for those who wanted to try without completely committing to it and not spend too much, existed. And to say to the least, I did not regret. This bundle is both affordable and gives you a good set of beginner tools to try out. I personally really liked that this bundle existed and it really helped me actually take the first steps into getting into reusable pads as someone who is too indecisive and found it too daunting to begin on my own if you will 😅 also the little bag I got to put my pads in is WAYYY too cute, I love it. I put a pen for size reference, that’s the max flow pad (which did its job very well might I add) with the double compartment bag

The imbalance between the front and back make them slide around the crotch a fair amount. 2 snaps on the crotch is nice. They aren’t nearly water proof enough in my opinion. I find liquid bleeds around to the wings too easily and then to your pants. Sorry! I want to love these. The lifesaver mat is a better product I feel BUT also slides around my bed a lot.

Excellent Product and Customer Service

I’ve been reluctant to switch from disposable pads to reusable ones, but seeing videos about these products made me decide to give it a try. I got a lovely note in the mail with my sample pack which made me feel valued as a customer. The pads are so comfortable - I barely notice I’m wearing them- and, so far, work just as well if not better than the disposable ones I was using. I will definitely be purchasing more!

Making the switch to reusables can be intimidating! Thank you for giving us a try, we are so happy you love your HyPs.
