Lil Helper’s Needs Program helps individuals who self-identify as needing our reusable menstrual pads but cannot afford them at full price. We believe everyone should have access to menstrual health products, especially during tough times.

To ensure fairness, we ask participants to follow the honor system and claim the support only if genuinely needed. As a small business, we rely on honesty and integrity to make this program work, fostering inclusivity and community kindness.

REUSABLE PADS:

  • Liner (8 inches): Holds 10-20 ml (2-4 tampons); ideal for spotting or light protection.
  • Regular (10 inches): Holds 20-30 ml (4-6 tampons); perfect for moderate days.
  • Heavy (13 inches): Holds 30-40 ml (6-8 tampons); for heavier days or overnight.
  • Max (16 inches): Holds 80-100 ml (up to 20 tampons); for very heavy flow or postpartum needs.

Washing & Drying Instructions:

  • Machine wash the pads in cold water using a reputable detergent—we recommend Tide Original.
  • Start with a pre-wash in cold water using a small amount of detergent (about 1/4 of what's recommended for a full load).
  • Follow with a heavy duty wash (longest cycle, up to 140°F / 60°C) using the full recommended amount of detergent. Add other laundry items as needed for bulk.
  • Do not use bleach or fabric softeners
  • Air dry whenever possible to help maintain the shape and quality of the pads.
  • If using a dryer, set it to low heat to avoid shrinking or damaging the materials.
  • Avoid over-drying, which can cause wear to the materials

We know every flow & body is different. So we made our reusable pads with options for everyone (most folks use 2-4 pads per day of their cycle)

Our Needs Program was created to make our products more accessible to folks with a limited budget.


Based on an honor system of need and self-identification, folks can purchase selected items at a considerable discount.

The Needs program exists to provide folks with high quality solutions that they truly need from Lil Helper but cannot otherwise afford.

Kind Capitalism is one of Lil Helper’s core principles, where we operate as a for-profit business but where profit is not our only motive to show up for work. At our core, we want to provide solutions to people based on their needs.

We hope to make it easier for folks to switch to reusable products when we can by helping with the upfront costs in this way.

Needs program acts as a subsidy program and will replace our Baby Do Better Program so that we can offer all our needs based products at a subsidized rate for folks who need them.

The Needs Program is stocked with qualifying items that we can reasonably offer either by ordering in bulk or by stocking prints that we have a surplus of. We are a for-profit business but profit is not our sole motivation.


When folks support our company by buying full priced items, it allows us to offer some products at a discounted rate for those who truly need the help.

We know the Lil Helper family is incredibly generous and supportive. At this time, we have not found a way to allow other folks to support our work directly in the Need’s Program. We are going to continue investigating this option!
Currently, we are in the beginning trial stage of our Needs Program, and only offering our HyPs menstrual pads. We hope to be able to expand this program in the future.

Great product and team

I really like the pads. I haven't had leakage while using them, although I know others have stated that has been an issue. The heavy pad can hold a lot, especially since I have a heavy flow. Very comfortable and non-irritating to my sensitive skin.I definitely plan to buy more later on. In addition, my package originally got stolen by a porch pirate. The team generously offered to resend me my order completely free of charge to another address that was secure. 10/10 experience.

Love my new find!

I have been looking for a way to stay drier after years and years of unhappy pantie liner options. This is the best resolution for me! I’m not giving it 5 starts because there is some sliding so maybe its user error but I feel dry all day no odors and def saving the environment thank you LH!

We've heard this feedback about slipping - you'll be happy to know we've added some new non-slip silicone dots to our HyPs and will be releasing this new version - HyPs Active - in the coming weeks!
In the mean time, you may want to try wearing them backwards - since every body is different, we've had some users report that that helps!

Great for first timers

Honestly, I’ve always been skeptical of reusable pads. What if it doesn’t absorb as much? What if it’s too bulky? What if it’s too complicated to maintain compared to disposable ones? What if it slips or slides in my underwear? And a bundle of other what ifs. But I’ve always loved the idea of no longer wasting both money and resources on disposable pads. So I was really glad to see that a bundle for those who wanted to try without completely committing to it and not spend too much, existed. And to say to the least, I did not regret. This bundle is both affordable and gives you a good set of beginner tools to try out. I personally really liked that this bundle existed and it really helped me actually take the first steps into getting into reusable pads as someone who is too indecisive and found it too daunting to begin on my own if you will 😅 also the little bag I got to put my pads in is WAYYY too cute, I love it. I put a pen for size reference, that’s the max flow pad (which did its job very well might I add) with the double compartment bag

The imbalance between the front and back make them slide around the crotch a fair amount. 2 snaps on the crotch is nice. They aren’t nearly water proof enough in my opinion. I find liquid bleeds around to the wings too easily and then to your pants. Sorry! I want to love these. The lifesaver mat is a better product I feel BUT also slides around my bed a lot.
