These pads are built to last through years of washes. Treat them right and they'll keep doing their job.

Before wash day: If heavily soiled, give the pad a quick rinse in cold running water until the water runs clear, then store until wash day. For fecal soiling, rinse as much as possible into the toilet first. A quick post-use rinse also helps prevent ammonia buildup between washes.

Washing: Run a pre-wash on a short cycle in cold water with about ¼ of the recommended detergent amount. Follow with a heavy-duty wash (longest cycle, up to 140°F / 60°C) using the full recommended amount of detergent. Add other laundry items to bulk up the load, proper agitation makes a real difference. We recommend Tide Original.

What to avoid: No bleach. No fabric softener. No castile or coconut-based soaps, these can reduce absorbency and damage the waterproof layer over time.

Drying: Air dry whenever possible to preserve the shape, silicone dots, and PUL layer. If you're using a dryer, tumble dry on low heat only. Remove promptly when the cycle ends, over-drying wears out the materials faster.

Pro tip: Wash in a mesh laundry bag to keep the pad from getting tangled in your machine's agitator.

The Unisex Incontinence Pads come with a secure, non-slip design featuring silicone dots on the base layer. This keeps the pad in place throughout the day, providing reliable leak protection without shifting, so you can move freely without worry.
Close-fitting cotton briefs or boxer briefs work best. The silicone dots on the back of the pad grip cotton fabric best, keeping everything in place all day. Avoid loose boxers, satin, or polyester blends, they're too slippery and the pad will shift. Fresh underwear with good elasticity makes a noticeable difference too.

I wanted to like these more

I absolutely hate disposable incontinence pads and, as someone with very sensitive skin, I find them extremely irritating. So, despite being a bit hesitant about the price, and since I have been so thrilled with my lifesaver mats, I tried these.

I wanted to like them more than I actually did. They are very large (and I'm a big person) but to be effective I get that they would need to be of a certain size. However, they are also very heavy for their size, which I think might contribute to their unwieldiness. I have a very hard time getting them to sit right no matter which type of underwear I am wearing (and I don't ever wear small underwear).

The grippy surface is just not that effective for the size/weight ratio. They are prone to falling out when trying use the restroom. I was hoping to try and use them at night but tossing and turning (which I do heavily) renders them basically ineffective (and uncomfortable).

I am sure this is a difficult product to make tick all the boxes. But in terms of cost/benefit analysis, I probably won't be buying anymore of these, though I might be willing to try a redesign because I hate disposables and love your products.

Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback of your Unisex Reusable Incontinence Pads so thoughtfully. We really appreciate the honesty, especially coming from someone who already loves our mats. Your experience around the weight, shifting, and difficulty keeping them in place is something that can happen, especially with higher absorbency pads. Our customers have found that snug fitting underwear has been key in a good fit, even a different style like snug fitting shorts can help keep it in place. With that being said, it sounds like you have a great understand of the pad and we're so grateful for this feedback because it's really going to help us with future product development. We appreciate you sharing your experience with us and hope that you have an amazing day! - Amanda @ Lil Helper

Catches the gushes

I was skeptical but encouraged to find reusable pads. Between heavy leaks and heavy periods I was throwing a lot of pads and tampons in the trash. I just got them a few days ago but so far they work great for catching leaks and even gushes. They stayed in place just fine, but are a little awkward when pulling underwear up and down. The end panels just need adjusted, not a big deal. They take a really long time to air dry indoors after washing, I am going to try drying on low next time. I did not notice any odors. Excited to try the WOW and hyp pads!

Hi Kristin! Thank you kindly for taking the time out of your day to share your experience with your Unisex Reusable Incontinence Pad. Fear no 'gush' while you're wearing these! We are thrilled to know that these are catching leaks for you and are overall comfortable. We appreciate the feedback on keeping them steady as you pull your underwear up and down. These are the first version of this product; we try to improve future versions based on customer feedback so we will pass this along to our team at Lil Helper. We hope that you have an amazing weekend! - Amanda @ Lil Helper

These are amazing!

If you have bladder leaks these are awesome. I typically wear period underwear during the day for minor leaks and I added a pair of period sleep shorts over top for an extra layer at night. But they leaked through a lot- nearly every night. Then I found these! No matter if I cough, sneeze, stretch or roll around, these absorb it all. I am tickled pink with this product. And this will save money in the long run from needing to buy disposable incontinence pads which I finally had resigned myself to wearing nightly. Now I go to sleep confident that I’ll wake up dry! I just ordered 3 more so I have a weeks’ worth. Thank you!

Hi Kestrel! Many thanks for your five star review of your Unisex Reusable Incontinence Pad! We are seriously overjoyed reading how they are making a difference to you for your period. You can surely move about your day and night with confidence knowing that these mighty pads will prevent any leaks! We also love that these provide a more cost friendly solution than disposable products (this is just one of the many perks of our sustainable reusable products!). We hope that you have a lovely day!
